Alley between London Street and Oxford Street, Swindon
Replete with wheelie bins, this narrow alley runs between houses and flats in London Street, to the right, and Oxford Street. This image was taken from the eastern edge of the conserved Railway Village built under contract to Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the driving force behind the huge Great Western Railway factory that was in operation from the 1830s to 1986. The manhole cover bears the initials GWR LinkExternal link This alley is a lot narrower than its near neighbour SU1484 : Alley between Oxford Street and Reading Street, Swindon
