Remains of old golf course Peebles (1)
With the founding of the Peebles Golf Club in 1893 a 9-hole golf course was made here on Morning Hill. It was in use until 1908 when a new 18-hole course was opened at the present site at Kirklands.
Several levelled areas here on Morning Hill are presumably the remains of the tees of the old course. Although golf is no longer played here, the hillside is popular spot for sledging in winter.
