The building is dated 1928.
The Dispensary was established in April 1777, funded through subscriptions, gifts and legacies. It had premises firstly in Side and then Pilgrim Street. In 1790 it operated from a building in Low Friar Chare and later Nelson Street, where it remained until 1928. Its final move was here to 115 New Bridge Street. It closed in 1976 and has had several uses since.
