SK3281 : Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet This is home to a nicely preserved and workable horizontal steam engine of about 1855. There are also waterwheels driving tilt hammers, blowers and grindstones. The chimneys in the background are on the crucible steel furnaces. This is a very important remnant of Sheffield's industrial past.
