The three stone buildings are, from right to left, first the Congregational Church of 1842; second a building which has had a mixed history, built in 1863 as a Post office and later becoming the Gretna Tavern, the first state managed pub under the Carlisle State management Scheme; and third LloydsTSB built as the Atheaneum in 1839.
