Coombe St Stephen viaduct
Coombe St Stephen viaduct
An afternoon Penzance to Paddington train heads over the viaduct at Coombe St Stephen while cattle graze in the foreground. This viaduct is 70 feet (21 m) high, 738 feet (225 m) long on 11 piers and replaced the old wooden viaduct on 11 July 1886. This is just one of the many stone viaducts on the Cornish main line.
