Stanton post mill - the bottom level of the buck
In the middle is the eponymous post that carries the mill. The big beam sitting on the post is the crown tree and the entire buck is effectively carried by this. Behind the post is the great spur wheel that drives the stone nuts with the stones above. The two tentering governors are also visible. Also visible are the meal spouts carrying the flour from the stones above.
The crown tree bears the date 1751.
