This mill is of interest to me as the original home of the fine Whitmore & Binyon horizontal single cylinder engine at the Museum of East Anglian Life - TM0458 : Whitmore and Binyon Horizontal Steam Engine TM0458 : Whitmore and Binyon Horizontal Steam Engine. The engine was in the projecting house on the right hand mill building, which was a more modern roller mill. The water courses imply that the original water powered mill was in the building on the left. The miller's house is rather fine and implies a prosperous business. The cross of St George probably signifies some important sporting event.
