Houseboats on the Portsmouth and Arundel Canal
Houseboats on the Portsmouth and Arundel Canal
These days called the Chichester Canal, but more accurately the Portsmouth and Arundel Canal as it linked Portsmouth via Langstone and Chichester harbours to the River Arun. After the canal was abandoned in 1928 houseboats took over this section, and they remain the main feature of this unnavigable western end of the canal.
To the left are very different types of boats, because just off to the left is Chichester Yacht Basin, berth to many very expensive sea going yachts some of which can be seen out of the water for maintenance.
