Fountain, wall of East Grange Farm, Barmoor Lane
A C14th fountain installed in the C19th in the wall west of Ryton Pinfold. Pevsner describes it as an unusual drinking fountain, using a re-used medieval crocketed canopy, possibly from Old Durham Market House (cf. masonry at nearby Thorpe House).

There is another similar fountain in the wall of the same property further west, known as Causey Well. An old photo of this well taken from the collection of W.A. Cocks of Ryton is described as being installed by Archdeacon Thorpe after its transfer from Durham Cathedral LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link )
