Abbey Mill
Abbey Mill
Now a private house, Abbey Mill stands above an old leat running alongside Abbey Rapids on the River Tees. The name comes from the Premonstratensian Egglestone Abbey, whose ruins stand just behind the photographer. Up the hill, on the north side of the river, you can make out the buildings of Mains House.
