SU7172 : The Holybrook

taken 14 years ago, near to Reading, England

The Holybrook
The Holybrook
From the pedestrian bridge over the Inner Distribution Road (IDR) which spirals round to ground level here. It is by The Holybrook, an artificial channel built by the Monks of Reading Abbey in the Middle Ages to supply water and still accessible in many parts of Reading today. Behind are relatively new (1990s) houses built on the site of the former Simmonds brewery. This is a peaceful area just outside Reading town centre.
