National Temperance Hospital, Hampstead Road, NW1
The National Temperance Hospital (prior to 1939, the London Temperance Hospital) was founded in 1873 by the National Temperance League. Following the establishment of the National Health Service in 1948 it went through various reorganisations and eventually came under the management of University College Hospital, close by; its buildings were eventually judged redundant and at the time of writing (2011) it has been boarded up for some twenty years.
