Welsh Marches Railway Line

The Welsh Marches line runs between Shrewsbury (where it connects with lines to Manchester, Liverpool and North Wales) and Newport (where it connects with the South Wales line). It allows direct trains to run between North and South Wales. The line was constructed in the 1850s by two railway companies, both heading for Hereford. Trains regularly run between Manchester and South Wales.
