NS3976 : The edge of the woods

taken 14 years ago, near to Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire, Scotland

The edge of the woods
The edge of the woods
The raised area that is shown receding from the photographer's position, just right of centre, is the course of a drain; where the line of the drain meets the riverbank, a large concrete object, probably plugging up the drain, can be seen on the slope above the river.

The woods on the right are the same ones as are shown in NS3976 : Cycle route beside former brickfield; as mentioned there, the woods cover what was once a brickfield.

On the far side of the field, at the far left, a NS3876 : Track leading to cycle path is visible as a brown horizontal line (at the foot of a pole carrying power lines). A brickworks stood near the eastern end of that track, where it meets the trees.
