Llyn Crafnant: on the south side there is a cut rock along the road which falls with water along the joint planes after a night of intense rainfall in the climbers' mountain hut above from which students of Landscape Architecture could reviewon a long walk down the valley head, as a Design feature, while Martin Spray had reached the north slope view shown, at the head of the "column", explaining vegetal complex, forest trees and superb example of hillside conifer leaf litter. Below this is the best hotel I have ever had the opportunity to stay, above alongside the hut there are soil pipes in the basin peat. Look out for deep eroded peat gully, with slotted baseflow zones in the valley to the west and north. M Spray AD Pinder MJ Cole.
