Slippery Stones Bridge
Slippery Stones Bridge
Across the River Derwent to the north of Howden Reservoir. The original site of this 17th century packhorse bridge was further downriver at the former Derwent village. The bridge (a scheduled ancient monument) was dismantled when the construction of the Ladybower dam meant that Derwent village would be submerged beneath the waters of the new reservoir and reconstructed at this site.
