The sixteen houses built in 1861 that formed the main village street of St Kilda were decaying before the National Trust for Scotland started the programme of making the buildings weatherproof. Here one NTS group in July 1965 are repointing the walls of House 15. Volunteers worked a long morning each day and had the rest of the day to explore all the corners of Hirta. The building was still roofless in 2014 NF0999 : House 15, Main Street, St Kilda.
