NZ1466 : Field between Heddon on the Wall & Throckley

taken 14 years ago, near to Heddon-on-The-Wall, Northumberland, England

Field between Heddon on the Wall & Throckley
Field between Heddon on the Wall & Throckley
Hexham Road (the former A69) is on the left, its straight line taken from Hadrian's Wall, which it overlays. The start of the houses can be seen on the left. The Vallum runs parallel to the Wall through this field, its ditches greatly reduced by ploughing. The mounds with scattered trees in the near distance are spoil heaps of an old coal pit. There are several more to the right.
