NU1340 : Pirri-Pirri-Burr

taken 15 years ago, near to Holy Island, Northumberland, Great Britain

Pirri-Pirri-Burr
Pirri-Pirri-Burr
My first sighting of this nuisance alien species on Guile Point. It is a problem on neighbouring Holy Island and has obviously spread over the water. The burrs become attached to clothing and are very very difficult to remove.
Native to New Zealand and Australia, Pirri Pirri is naturalising itself in the dunes of North Northumberland.
