Three church spires in Galashiels
Three church spires in Galashiels
This is a scan from a 1984 print showing three spires in the centre of Galashiels viewed from the High Road. The near spire belonged to St Andrew’s Church (1885) before it was sadly reduced to a stump when the church was converted into St Andrew’s Arts Centre. The middle spire is at Old Parish and St Paul’s Church in Scott Crescent which opened in 1881. The spire on the right belongs to St Aidan’s Church in Gala Park, opened in 1880 and closed in 2005. For a similar view in 2007 showing the reduced St Andrew’s spire, see NT4936 : Church spires in Galashiels.
