Military Cemetery at Kilchoman
Military Cemetery at Kilchoman
This cemetery contains 70 graves from the First World War, 67 of them holding the captain and crew of HMS Otranto, which was sunk nearby on 6 October 1918. Such a waste of young life - and happening only a few weeks before Armistice was reached. The cross is located on a fine vantage point, high above Machir Bay.
