Sheep at 'The Poplars', Cliffe Marshes
On this brilliant February afternoon hundreds of sheep had just been released to graze the marshes, and were still dispersing across a wide area. The animal nearest the camera has just crossed a 'bunny' - the local word for a bridging point across a marsh ditch. The two sheep to the right want to follow, but are waiting for me to get out of the way - my guess is they'd recently had a road journey from somewhere else in the county, and were still a bit jumpy.

For more about these marshes and the ruins at 'The Poplars', see: TQ7178 : The old Point Gates Road and the Poplars, near Lower Hope Point, Cliffe Marshes.
