Another view of one of the drum-shaped brick-built structures, around this extensive site. But for the damp situation you might take this one - seen in the raking light of a February afternoon - for some Inca temple.

My guess is that these round structures were magazines - for the storage of gunpowder, or similar materials. Each one of them has been earthed up, no doubt in the hope of containing any explosion.
