J5950 : Boundary post, Portaferry

taken 14 years ago, near to Portaferry, Co Down, Northern Ireland

Boundary post, Portaferry
Boundary post, Portaferry
An old Belfast boundary post, now sited in Cuan Place, Portaferry. I'm unsure why it now resides here, but it is not unique - a similar example can be seen in Killyleagh at J5252 : Old boundary post, Killyleagh. The inscription reads
"Parliamentary
and Municipal Boundary of
Belfast
Shankill Division
Shankill Ward
1918".
Belfast Boundary Posts

Old parliamentary and municipal boundary posts. Most appear to date from 1918. A few have been relocated from their original locations in Belfast.
