Mingary Castle
Mingary Castle
The structure played its part in clan warfare for 600 years before falling into disuse. Most attacks came from the sea but the rocky promontory Rubh a Mhile juts out from the shore. This and the exposed rocks in the foreground make seaward attacks dangerous but Ben Losgann and Ben Hiant (off picture to the right) render attacks from landward just as taxing.
