Railway bridge over the River Severn at Worcester
Before this image was taken, nearly five hours of low cloud, rain and some wind had made the journey from Stourport a day of "grey" photography, with regular cleaning of droplets from the camera lens. Here, that had just about stopped, allowing a pleasant view to the cathedral in subdued pastel colours. It took me three years to get round to this trip; narrowboats do not deliberately go onto the river during flood conditions. Now I'll have to do it again on a sunny day.
The cruise boat moored on the left is the Pride of the Midlands. I doubt whether they had much trade on this day.
