Three Little Boys, Ashdale Gill
This name was a strong reason for choosing this unfrequented route onto Middleton Fell. Would they be smaller versions of their grown-up relatives not too far away on Gragareth Link In reality, they are probably a natural outcrop which has split into three flakes rather than deliberately placed standing stones. There do not appear to be any man-made carvings or symbols but the rock is relatively flaky and these could have weathered away over time. Whatever they are, the outlook west over the Lune Valley is excellent.
