SE0508 : Above the Wessenden Valley

taken 11 years ago, 3 km from Marsden, Kirklees, Great Britain

Above the Wessenden Valley
Above the Wessenden Valley
A narrow gill above the Wessenden Valley. There is a good path along both sides which appears to have been a trackbed for a contractor's narrow gauge railway when the reservoirs were being built.

This was formerly the route of the Pennine Way but probably the difficulty of crossing the beck at the top when in flood has resulted in a diversion.
