Since the 1960's, dredged material from the Port of London Authority area has been pumped ashore at Cliffe, with the result that some former pools have been filled in. At present the dredger pier is operated by Westminster Dredging plc, who are licensed to deposit up to 850,000 cubic metres of dredgings per annum in the area managed by the RSPB. See the PLA's website: LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) .
