Dazed Goldfinch
Dazed Goldfinch
I found this poor critter pretty dazed by my back door after probably flying into the window. Two nijer seed feeders have to be filled weekly to keep up with the demand from the dozens of goldfinches that visit our garden every day. Unfortunately the downside is that occasionally in the flurry one tries to argue with the windows of my porch and kitchen. This bird fortunately made a full recovery after being placed in isolation in a small dark cardboard box for an hour. It's rare to get so close to this bird, handle it and take a picture. I'm really glad it survived. They are beautiful creatures to watch.
