Moss-covered cup and ring marked rock, Lemmington Wood
Moss-covered cup and ring marked rock, Lemmington Wood
Hidden in the depths of the wood, the rock has both a cup and ring carved motif (on the top of the rock, to the left) which is thought to date from the Bronze Age, and runes (facing), characters from an Anglo-Saxon script of the 1st or 2nd century AD LinkExternal link The combination makes it almost unique in Britain.
