ST6339 : Footman James 32nd Bristol Classic Car Show 2011
taken 10 years ago, near to Prestleigh, Somerset, Great Britain

Written by Brian Robert Marshall
The car show takes place at the Shepton Mallet showground famous for the Bath and West Show every year. The BCCS is a show for petrolheads of all ages and especially for those who own, maintain and display what are loosely called classic cars. It is hard to define what a classic car is. Veteran, vintage cars are well-defined by their age. Classic cars are perhaps best regarded as cars more than ten years old and which haven't rusted away in the meantime. Thus a 1998 Rover 216 GTI that is still extant is as much cherished as a 1965 Morris Minor or a 1934 Duesenberg, examples of which were to be seen at the show. Owners of these vehicles devote much time restoring and maintaining their cars and sometimes require the most obscure parts for that purpose. Shows like this always have 'autojumbles' where lever-arm shock absorbers or the entire rear suspension assembly for an 'E' type Jaguar can be found.
