The Redmond Bridge, Waterford
The Redmond Bridge, across the Suir, in the centre of Waterford opened in 1903. It eventually became unsafe and was replaced by the present Rice Bridge S6012 : Rice Bridge in 1984. Both bridges had lifting spans to allow shipping to pass. The limit of navigation was the Fiddown Bridge S4619 : River Suir at Fiodh Dúin (Fiddown). The view is towards the railway station S6013 : Waterford station.
