Knockshinnoch Lagoons Nature Reserve
Knockshinnoch Lagoons Nature Reserve
This nature reserve near New Cumnock was created from an old coal shale bing. It is managed by the Scottish Wildlife Trust. This view shows one of the lagoons. The main part of the old bing is being re-vegetated by birch, willow and rowan. I was impressed by the lack of litter and damage that's so often found in our unmanned wild spaces.
