SK1278 : Bend warning chevrons

taken 10 years ago, near to Peak Forest, Derbyshire, Great Britain

Bend warning chevrons
Bend warning chevrons
On the A623 near Peak Forest.

Here the road traverses a steep scarp by means of a double bend. The chevrons are atop these poles to make them visible to drivers heading west as they approach the moderate right-hand bend. Thus warning them of the sharp left-hand bend to come straight after.
