SD4187 : The monument (cairn) on Raven's Barrow

taken 14 years ago, near to Cartmel Fell, Cumbria, England

The monument (cairn) on Raven's Barrow
There is an alcove set into the face overlooking the valley but no indication of what the monument is supposed to be for. Some years ago a plaque was fixed onto a rock nearby which had a rather cryptic message on it ('upon that ziggurat' sticks in the mind). This has long gone but traces can still be found.
