That is the name (meaning plane trees), which appears on a gatepost, given to the mansion in 1882 when it was built for George Egmont Bieber, a City merchant. The next owner, Herman Kleinwort, gave the mansion to King’s College Hospital in 1910. Shortly afterwards it became a Hall of Residence LinkExternal link .
