TF3311 : Entering Gedney Hill from the east

taken 13 years ago, near to Gedney Hill, Lincolnshire, England

Entering Gedney Hill from the east
The old mill tower is almost hidden by the tree. As most of the farm land to the south is a couple of metres below sea level and the village is just above above sea level early settlers must have considered this village to be on a hill and hence the name. The name Gedney is from the Old English gaeda+eg, or "island of Gaeda".
