Aldford Motte and Bailey Castle (Blobb Hill)
Aldford Castle is situated to the north of the church. It was founded by Richard de Aldford as a motte and bailey castle in the 12th century. Some fragments of the stonework around the bailey and significant earthworks survive. It overlooked a ford across the River Dee.
