The OS Map refers to this bridge as Woolhampton Bridge and places the swing bridge in the next square to the east. However, today, the swing bridge is in this square and the next square has a footbridge. This bridge when open, together with the dropped railway booms a few metres away can result in a 20 minute delay in a journey along this route between spring and autumn! The cottage behind the bridge is known as Bridge Cottage and in 'olden' times the operator of the bridge lived there.
