TQ3677 : Fallen blossom in Folkestone Gardens

taken 13 years ago, near to Deptford, Lewisham, England

Fallen blossom in Folkestone Gardens
Fallen blossom in Folkestone Gardens
What looks like snow on the ground is actually horse-chestnut blossom that had bloomed and fallen earlier than usual in the very dry spring of 2011.
Folkestone Gardens, Deptford

A small park off Trundleys Road in Deptford, immediately south of the London Bridge - Lewisham railway line, on the site of several streets of houses destroyed by a V2 rocket on 7 March 1945.

The park is about 400m long east-west, and no more than 100m wide. At the west end there is a duck pond, at the east end a children's playground and skateboard park, and in between a grassed area. Several of the paths in the park are part of the London Cycle Network.
