The Ornamental lake at the east end of Drummond Castle's ornamental garden. The curved nature of the end of the lake combined with the lie of the land beyond gives the impression that the water in the lake is at an angle. However, the distant trees and fence posts are all straight as is the bridge parapet in the foreground! The memorial stone on the parapet recalls Lady Priscilla Aird. Born Lady Priscilla Heathcote-Drummond-Willoughby she married Colonel Sir John Renton Aird.
