Steam train at Foynes
During a special working for railway enthusiasts, former GS&WR 0.6.0 No. 186 pauses at Foynes. Although it remained open for freight until 16 December 2001, the branch from Limerick to Foynes lost passenger services in 1963. Foynes was once a major terminal for flying boat services to America, an era commemorated in the local museum.
