John Hill’s Biscuit Factory
John & Sarah Hill started their business in 1855 with a shop in Dukinfield and over the next few years expanded the baking side to complement the general Grocery & Provisions supplies. By the early 1890s, the manufacturing business had developed on a much larger scale and in 1894 Sarah Hill laid the foundation stone for Tudno Mill in the Ryecroft area of Ashton under Lyne.
