Blue plaque (2)
Blue plaque (2)
This is the second of two blue plaques fastened to the front of SJ8446 : Unitarian Meeting House (see also SJ8446 : Blue plaque (1)). Although the plaque credits Priestley with the discovery of oxygen there are, however, two other scientists who also lay claim to the discovery. Notwithstanding this Joseph Priestley was a respected scientist, historian and theologian.
