Cardiff Bay
Cardiff Bay
Now a fresh water lagoon with a fairly constant water level fed by the rivers Taff and Ely, the bay was tidal until 1999, when the Cardiff Bay Barrage was completed across the Penarth Flats. The barrage is just to the left of Penarth Head, the cliff at the centre of the picture. The marina in the foreground is Mermaid Quay at the north end of the bay.
