This photo taken on 14/04/06 shows traffic on the Station Brae Bridge travelling towards the town centre of Galashiels. This bridge, constructed in 1938, was closed on 03/07/06 and is due for demolition as part of a major redevelopment scheme within the town. The building to the left with scaffolding is an extension to Galashiels health centre. The health centre stands on the site of the former Galashiels Railway Station, and Currie Road in front of the health centre used to be the route of the former Waverley Railway Line that was closed in January 1969. Currie Road is now closed and a new inner relief road will be constructed on the south side of the health centre. The building on the right is Our Lady and St Andrews Church and the hill in the background is Meigle Hill.
