The Ten-Foot Drain
The Ten-Foot Drain
This drain runs through Adventurers Fen.
Labelled on a map of the Fen in the 1910-1920 period, by Dr. Eric A. R. Ennion, as 'The Ten-Foot Drain', it was dug to help drain the fen, with a pump located at its south-eastern end. The drain would have been much deeper, wider (hence 'Ten-Foot') and steeper-sided at the time.
