The Jubilee Institute, Rothbury
The Jubilee Institute, Rothbury
Also known as Jubilee Hall, it is a community centre with a number of rooms, halls and a community cinema, run as a charitable organisation LinkExternal link .
The name refers back to Queen Victoria's golden jubilee (1887), an occasion which inspired the expansion and improvement of an existing institute.
The building has changed a lot over the years, particularly after a fire in 1939 - for historical information see LinkExternal link and (from web archive) Archive LinkExternal link .
